Baghdad's national museum ancient artefacts SHOWING UP IN PARIS

Search
(BBC) - Organised gangs of international art traffickers were behind the looting of the most important exhibits at Baghdad's national museum, experts believe... Some artefacts from the museum have already turned up in Paris...

Thousands of ancient artefacts dating from the birth of civilisation were stolen and damaged in the wake of the entry of US forces to the city.

Professional smugglers joined opportunist civilians to take advantage of the lawless vacuum, a group of archaeologists has been told.

Among the priceless treasures missing are the 5,000-year-old Vase of Uruk and the Harp of Ur. The bronze Statue of Basitki from the Akkadian kingdom is also gone, somehow hauled out of the museum despite its huge weight.

Sh!t, you can get a brand new vase at Marshall Fields on sale until Sunday for half price. What all the crying about? The harp I heard was out of tune but I'm sure radiofree or Grantt have a couple in their music rooms the will sell. The bronze statue of Basitki - one less idol for the arabs to worship I guess.

One of the idiots who resigned was there eight years - no doubt put there by clinton.
